FAQ
What is Kleen Bin?
Kleen Bin, established in 1997, is a Patented wheelie bin cleaning service that uses less than 1 litre of non-potable water per wash. After each high-pressure bin wash, bins are dried and sanitised with a specially developed bio-degradable anti-bacterial spray that will keep your bin safe for the whole family between cleans.
How often should my bin be cleaned?
Wheelie bins should be washed and sanitised a minimum of weekly in Summer, when temperatures are warmer, and fortnightly in Winter. To ensure health and safety for the whole family, we recommend weekly, throughout the year.
What are your operating hours?
Bins are washed and sanitised on weekdays between 09:00 and 19:00 (in Summer, Sept-Apr) and 18:00 (in Winter, May-Aug), on the day that your Municipality empties your bin.
What does the service cost?
We offer two services namely 1) weekly wash and sanitise at R224 incl. VAT per month or 2) fortnightly wash and sanitise at R152 incl. VAT per month.
Under what circumstances are we not able to wash a bin?
Bins contaminated with wet paint, pet faeces, engine oil or any other water contaminant prevents us from washing the bin as the contaminant, contaminates the non-potable water in our trailers, resulting in us having to immediately discard up to 250 litres of non-potable water. Please ensure any water contaminates are safely and securely bagged within your wheelie bin.
December closure.
Every year over the festive season we close for 2 weeks for our annual break as staff head home to be with family. The 2 cleans (weekly clients) you will miss and still be billed for in Dec, we make up for during the year in the 5 week months with extra cleans that far than make up for the missed cleans.
When will my bin be cleaned?
On your Municipal emptying day, Kleen Bin will visit your bin for a wash and sanitise, so please leave it out after the Municipality has emptied it.
What happens if my bin is not emptied by the Municipality?
Should your bin not be emptied, usually due to Municipal trucks running late or not running at all, it will be washed and sanitised the following day between 09:00 and 16:00, provided the bin is empty. If the bin is not empty, it will then be abandoned for the following week.
Are there contracts or agreements?

In what areas do you operate?
