Don’t let your bin be a breeding ground for E.Coli
Your bin is a breeding ground for some pretty nasty stuff, if left uncleaned for several weeks on end. The nasty odour your bin used to develop, before regular cleans by Kleen Bin, are the bacteria growing. This is why we promote no less than a fortnightly clean and sanitisation.
The most common bacteria are Escherichia coli (E. Coli), Salmonella and Listeria. E. Coli is found in uncooked meat and other household food and infection symptoms include abdominal cramps, diarrhoea and vomiting. Salmonella is bacteria usually found in uncooked poultry or meat and infection symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fever and headaches. Listeria can be found in many foods and thrive in colder temperatures, emphasising the need to continue a regular cleaning routine, even in Winter. The initial symptoms of listeriosis might not become apparent for some time; the incubation period is variable and can be anything from 11 to 70 days after consuming food with Listeria.
Besides a good wash, we use a specially developed oil-based anti-bacterial detergent to spray your bin after each thorough wash. We use an oil, rather than water, to ensure that the positive effects of our bacteria killing detergent stays on all surfaces of the inside of your bin for as long as possible. Water based products simply evaporate.
For your last clean of 2019, we will give your bin a thorough oiling to ensure that your bin remains safe, and mostly bacteria free, for the duration of our break, being two weeks.
